Earth Day Staunton Learn how to help the Earth every day at Earth Day Staunton, Saturday, April 20, 11am-3pm at Gypsy Hill Park Bandstand. Enjoy a family-friendly, fun day for all with wildlife programs by the Wildlife Center of Virginia, a live beehive exhibit, and electric cars on display. Children will receive an event passport to get stamped by exhibitors to earn a souvenir button. Food trucks will be on site.  Bring your own reusable water bottle. In the event of rain, the event will be held in the Gypsy Hill Park Gym. More information can be found at EarthDayStaunton.org

Tree Workdays – Join the Shenandoah Green’s Staunton Tree Stewards in taking care of our local trees, doing tasks such as pruning, watering, and planting. All workdays run 10am-1pm. Upcoming 2024 dates include: Sat., April 13th, Tue., April 23rd, Sat., May 11, Tue., May 21. Meet at the bus stop on Lewis Street across from Chicano Boy Tacos. Clean the Bay Day - June annually - Shenandoah Green and other area organizations helped establish the first Clean the Bay Day in Staunton. By providing a data collection sheet for clean-ups in our area, we have begun to gain an understanding of the quantity and types of litter that are clogging our waterways and polluting our landscape.

EarthTober Poetry Jam – October Date TBD at Sunspots Pavilion – As part of the Staunton Jams, enjoy music and readings of the winning poems from the Earth Day Staunton Poetry Contest. Molly Murphy of the Judy Chops and friends will provide musical interludes.
