Plastic Awareness with Flippy
Flippy the Whale is our 15-foot community mascot and a powerful educational tool in the fight against plastic pollution. Flippy represents the volume of plastic waste that ends up in our oceans. Through interactive school visits and public appearances, Flippy helps residents of all ages visualize the plastic problem.

Reuse
Go Green Bank
Party like a planet-saver! Why buy a stack of plastic plates that will last 20 minutes on the table but 500 years in a landfill? The Go Green Bank offers real tableware for birthdays, weddings, and community gatherings you can borrow, use, and return. It’s a simple way to party with a purpose and protect our Valley’s natural beauty. Fill out the reservation form to borrow dishware for your upcoming event!

Recycle
Composting
Instead of sending organic waste to the landfill where it produces harmful methane, redirect those nutrients back into the earth! Through a partnership with Black Bear Composting, we've created a community drop-off point to help neighbors and businesses close the loop on waste and build healthier, more resilient soil.

Never Litter
There's no excuse for littering! What you throw out is not just an eyesore, but also ends up in our waterways and kills animals.

Cigarette Problem
It is a myth that cigarette butts will decompose. The filter is actually made of plastic which ends up in waterways, releasing microplastics and other toxins into the water.
Advocate for Change
Join one of our climate marches, write your elected representatives, and - more than anything - vote for our environment.

Conserve Water & Energy
Anyone can commit to using less. This just means making a conscious effort to keep the heat a little lower, take shorter showers, avoid space heaters, etc.
Insulation
Heat escape is a huge source of wasted energy. When you need more heat or AC, you use more energy, thus more CO2 is created. Insulation saves money, and helps Earth.
Invest Green
You have a choice about where you invest. There are quite successful mutual funds that commit to not supporting fossil fuels, mining, or other harmful business. Vote with your money!
